M.I.M.E  PROJECT

What is the MIME Project?  Cultur has recently accessed funding for a new project called the MIME (Migrants Integrating in Meath Equally) project to work specifically with migrants from outside of the EEA. It will be spread over an 18 month period starting in March 2011.
This project is co-financed by the European Commission under the European Integration Fund and is supported by the Office of the Minister for Integration and Pobal.  It is also co-financed by a number of local partners and cofunders in County Meath.
What is the aim of the project?  The project aims to promote the integration of Third Country Nationals resident in Co. Meath, and in particular those who are at risk of poverty, discrimination and social exclusion. The project will support the active participation of Third Country Nationals in all aspects of cultural, social, political, educational and economic life in county Meath.
Project Details:

  • Pre Development work will be carried out with Third Country Nationals.
  • A strategic plan will be developed to support the integration of Third Country Nationals living in County Meath.
  • Key action or thematic groups will be developed based on the needs identified in the pre development work.
  • An education, training, and employment audit will be carried out.
  • Based on the findings of the Education and Training Audit, a targeted training and induction programme  (STEP) will be designed  and delivered by County Meath VEC, to facilitate the integration of Third Country Nationals in County Meath.  The STEP training will be an 80 hour modular part time evening/day programme.
